There are two employees of our company who never deign to contribute to the common tasks. They are quite punctual, actually. There is no memory of a work day ever having started without their presence. But presence is all their contribution – and no one dreams of demanding more than this!
Oscar is a black dog of indefinite breed, vaguely related to poodle and Portuguese water dog. Very sure of himself, we suspect he is convinced he is the boss of all this. He barks furiously when he gets stuck anywhere, or whenever he wants turns the tap on a bidet turned on to drink.
He is crazy about petting and very greedy. He always comes to beg whoever is having breakfast and has the habit of following people to the restaurant at lunch hour, which is why they often close him at that time. Or he tries to go with the large format team, when they get in the van and go mount a billboard or decorate a storefront.
As a good professional, he never barks at customers, but his pet hatred are the men coming in a big truck to pick up the recyclable paper. These make him really furious!
Oscar has been with us for several years. Many clients know and love him.
Princesa is more recent, still childish. A kitten of undefined breed, what veterinarians call Common European, has, of course, less history.
Very shy, she usually stays in the ink store or the finishing department, making quick expeditions through the rest of the house, but keeping the retreat always ready.
She has already achieved peaceful coexistence with Oscar and begins to appreciate the petting by her human colleagues. One of her favorite havens is the three-dimensional maze formed by a pile of pallets, another some tall storage racks in the finishing department where she can hardly be bothered.
Later she made Helena, from the Reception, her special friend and took to pass the time in the Reception, saying hello to the clients and sleeping on a printer sometimes.
That's not much, but she's still small. Our female colleagues, in particular, like her very much.
Update
After completing her internship, Princesa considered carefully the proposals that came up. She finally decided to go home to our colleague Rui. He proposed he would treat her with all his love. But the deciding argument was beds and sofas, things that lack here. Rui guarantees she has taken possession of his house and he feels happy as her servant.
