The giant canvas was part of the preparation of Pope Francis' visit to Portugal, to participate in a pilgrimage to Fátima.
This job was a challenge due to the dimensions, the local and also the visibility. This giant canvas of 30 by 25 meters about the coming of Pope Francis to Fátima was difficult to print, to assemble and even worse to mount over the eight story face of the Novo Banco building, in the central Marquês de Pombal roundabout in Lisbon. The canvas itself weights 350 kg.
Alpinism techniques are needed for this kind of montage.
But we are known for achieving what we commit to do. The use of scaffolding was out of question. We used alpinism techniques and completed the montage during the night of May the 2nd, which simplified a lot the operations and the safety in such a busy place.
And in the morning, whoever passed by already saw the giant smiling face of Pope Francis. There were smiles in our faces too, although of normal size and a bit tired.
More important, our client was very happy with our work.
